DECK ENGINEER (offshore)
Job description:
We are searching for experienced deck engineers for various projects.
The Deck Engineer responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- The Deck Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and repair of deck mechanical and hydraulic systems including cranes, carousels, tensioners and launch and recovery systems.
- Wearing, inspecting and caring for required personal protective equipment
- Consulting with Chief Engineer for any changes to systems, ensuring they are documented, logged and approved by the responsible authority
- Ensuring thorough uniform stock and quality control for adequate inventory and level of spares is maintained at all times with area of responsibility
- Working knowledge of all Company procedures, including Safety Management System, applicable to his/her duties
- Carrying out all work in accordance with the established safety standards and work practices
- Taking part in emergency and occupational on-board training when applicable
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Deck Engineer/Hydraulic Technician
- Proven background working with hydraulic systems in an offshore environment, preferably relevant to equipment on the vessel. (E.g. cranes, tensioners, carousels)
- BOSIET Training or Equivalent (OPITO approved)
- Fluent both in spoken and written English
